sPICY g

It’s been 542 days since Gavin has been gone. Time is a tricky thing when managing tragic loss. Sometimes time flashes before my eyes at lightening speed but then there are times when it goes by so slowly I think I might have to live forever and ever with this loss! I know Gav is giving me tasks to help me keep breathing as it can be incredibly difficult at times. My newest project is his Spice Collection! Gavin truly was an insanely great chef! His dad cooked in many kitchens as a chef and always loved creating intricate and delicious meals for the boys. I think G was only 2 when he tried (and LOVED) sushi for the first time in San Francisco. I grew up in an Italian family and my Grandparents recipes I cherish always. My Grandmothers sauce and stuffed artichokes are a family favorite! Gavin always cooked for us at home as well as in Columbus at OSU. He had a collection of spices and sauces in the small pantry shelf in the rugby house kitchen. Not only did he have a passion for cooking for everyone he loved, he truly took his time creating the most amazing rubs, and sauces to accompany his dishes. Mason is home on winter break now and he’s been cooking me up some yummy dishes as well. The boys just have a true passion for cooking! I’m lucky that I don’t always have to cook, but the cleaning IS left to me lol.

As I create items for the Foundation Shop, my first priority is to make Gavin proud. I am so very proud of him and I think keeping his love for life alive through the Foundation is so important! We are working on new ways to directly help people that are struggling to get insulin and supplies. It’s imperative that his electric energy helps to save lives. 100% of every purchase through the site goes to the Gavin Gill Foundation and then in turn directly to people living with Type 1 Diabetes.

We are offering signature all organic spices in the shop tab. I hope to expand to sauces too! Here is a recipe Gavin created and had written down.
